SWIM Season for 2022-2023
Starts in October 2022
Swim season starts in mid October and runs through the end of January. State Swim meet is in early February. Swim Practice is at the Summit YMCA. Practice is usually 2-3 days a week in the morning before school 5:30am-7:00am.
There are typically 10 swim meets for the High School team. Most of the meets are on Saturdays, but a few are on Friday. For Friday meets, the swimmers are excused from school. The 8th grade swimmers typically swim with the High School team. Depending on the meet requirements, it may be as an exhibition swim or it may be count towards the team points.
The team includes Middle School 6-7 grade for all of Coweta county. The Middle School team practices and swims with the ECHS swim team. For swimmers in 8th grade, they will swim with their zoned High School Swim Team.
Bus Transportation is provided to and from the swim meets. Swimmers are required to ride the bus to the meets.
Coaches make the decisions as to which events a swimmer will swim at a meet. Choices are made to maximize team points and to achieve State Times.
Parents are important part of the Swim Team. Parents may be asked to assist with swim meets and social events. This will range from providing food, chaperoning bus ride, or timing at a meet.
DragonFly is an online website/app which contains online versions of the forms. All forms must be completed.
Create an account for your swimmer and select either High School or Middle School Swim and Dive team and complete the forms.
One form requires notarization so you will need to print it and have it notarized.
The physical requires doctor signature. It will need to be printed and completed by the physician. If you have an annual checkup, have your doctor perform a sports physical as part of the routine visit.
