Interested in Swimming SWIM Season for 2022-2023 Starts in October 2022 About Us
Swim season starts in mid October and runs through the end of January. State Swim meet is in early February. Swim Practice is at the Summit YMCA. Practice is usually 2-3 days a week in the morning before school 5:30am-7:00am. Each year there are 10 swim meets for the High School team. Most of the meets are on Saturdays, but a few are on Friday. For Friday meets, the swimmers are excused from school. The 8th grade swimmers swim with the High School team except when there is a middle school classification at the meet. Depending on the meet requirements, the 8th graders may be an exhibition swim or count towards the team points. The team includes Middle School grades 6-7 for all of Coweta county. The Middle School team practices and swims with the ECHS swim team. For swimmers in 8th grade, they will swim with their zoned High School Swim Team. Bus Transportation is provided to and from the swim meets. Swimmers are required to ride the bus to the meets. Coaches make the decisions as to which events a swimmer will swim at a meet. Choices are made to maximize team points and to achieve State Times. Parents are important part of the Swim Team. Parents will be asked to assist with swim meets and social events. This will range from providing food, chaperoning bus ride, or timing at swim meets. Registration Information
